48' Offshore 1987 POINT OF VIEW

BROKER DESCRIPTION

For 18 Years, POINT OF VIEW has been loved, pampered, and enjoyed by a very knowledgeable engineer owner and his family.  She has cruised extensively over the past 18 years throughout the Bahamas and the East Coast of the United States. Under her present owner’s care, she has provided a very safe, seagoing platform with all the comforts of home.

Her condition, from custom hard top down to her immaculate bilges, defies her chronological age. Her gel coat gleams like a new paint job and the annual yard visit was completed in the middle of January 2018. Cosmetically and mechanically she will not disappoint even the most discriminating buyer.

POINT OF VIEW is a well designed, versatile yacht perfect for afternoon gunk holing, landing the big one or extended cruising.  She is truly turn key and ready for her next adventure.

DETAILS

The Offshore 48 Yachtfisher possesses a solid hand-laminated fiberglass hull with epoxy barrier coat .Point of View’s design features a generous beam and finely veed and deep forefoot that gradually tapers to a 12-degree deadrise at the transom. This design produces a hull that  knifes cleanly through waves and chop throughout the speed range.

Point of View has fresh, two-tone non-skid decks as well as window frames, doors and hatches made of gel coated fiberglass so they won’t corrode like aluminum or deteriorate like wood. Moreover, the cockpit contains a fresh water shower in a molded FRP cabinet .

Below deck, the 48 features quality hand-rubbed, satin finish Burmese teak cabinetry, and teak and holly sole throughout. Point of View has received new teak and holly soles in the past 5 years. The salon, staterooms, heads, and galley are built with the attention to detail that Offshore has been known for since 1948.  The 48 Yachtfisherman was built until 1996, and still remains today as one of the most successful models for Offshore Yachts.
