BROKER DESCRIPTION

Expedition Motoryacht "Aventura" is a serious, solid, steel ship intended to go anywhere and to do it for a long, long time. Virtually all key systems have redundant backups, or alternate sources. The more than 5,400 gallons of fuel will take her transatlantic at 10 knots, and easily transpacific at 7 - 8 knots, all the while in the safety and security of a ship that displaces 115 tons. Built to ABS class, this vessel has had impeccable maintenance by a knowledgeable owner its entire life and is one magnificent ship.  Vessel has just gone through a yard period to include: New Wesmar stabilizer port side and complete overhaul of system. Props and shafts removed, balanced and polished. New cutless bearings. New multi­seal dripless seals. Both engines laser re-­alignment. Both hydraulic pumps overhauled and tested.

The more than 5,400 gallons of fuel will take her transatlantic at 10 knots, and easily transpacific at 7-8 knots, all the while in the safety and security of a ship that displaces 115 tons. Built to ABS class, this vessel has had impeccable maintenance by a knowledgeable owner its entire life and is one magnificent ship. 

Vessel has just gone through a yard period to include: New Wesmar stabilizer port side and complete overhaul of system. Props and shafts removed balanced and polished. New cutless bearings. New multi-seal dripless seals. Both engines laser re-alignment. Both hydraulic pumps overhauled and tested.

The interior continues the ship-feel, with 7′ headroom throughout. Accommodations include  Master with sitting area and ensuite head,VIP with ensuite head, and guest stateroom with separate head with tub.
All heads are adorned with beautiful tile and marble. 
Throughout the vessel all the interior wood is glorious, old-growth teak and the joinery is spectacular.

The vessel features an aft-house design with aluminum superstructure. The pilot house is on the upper level with a raked electronics mast atop the pilothouse. 
Pilothouse has watch berth, settee and head with great visibility plus port and starboard wing stations.

Extensive electronics package with backup redundancy for all ocean crossings and worldwide capability.

Aft of pilothouse is BBQ and al fresco dining with full bimini.

Two 32 kW Kohler generators provide electricity to the various systems aboard. The owner has added a seamless power transfer system that in the event of loss of shore power automatically switches power from  dock to inverter and intermittent genset operation while reducing electrical load from chillers at the same time.

Vessel  has a stand up engine/machinery space that has 7' headroom. Engines are  twin big-block John Deere 6125AFM, Tier Two Powertech diesels, with a continuous duty rating of 341 HP each and a max RPM of 1800. 
Engines are keel cooled eliminating the salt water heat ex-changer system. Diesel hot water heaters help reduce electrical loads during peak operation. Village Marine 2000GPD Watermaker 

The hull features specially shaped prop keels, with boxed bar skegs protecting the propellers and securing the rudders. The vessel can sit upright on three keels if ocean levels drop that low for some reason.

Hull is constructed of 3/8″ steel plate on the bottom and the keel and stem are 1.5″ by 10″ plate.  The house is 1/4″ aluminum plate and the yacht conforms to both ABS and ABYC standards. The hull is finely faired and finished in Awlgrip®.
