Here is a rare opportunity to take possession of a US based OVNI 395. Very rare to the US market. This is an exceptionally clean and well cared for example of the great aluminum 395. Stronger than steel or fiberglass, light and quick with a go anywhere lifting keel.
Cruising World Review 2007The French builder, Chantier Alubat, has fashioned a robust hull out of the highest-grade aluminum. The deck layout is semiflush and simple. All sailing functions lead to the ergonomic aft cockpit. The trademark radar/antenna arch doubles as davits. A 55-horsepower Volvo with a three-bladed Max-Prop powers the vessel smartly. The Ovni is easily driven in light air. It should prove stiff in heavy air due to initial form stability and ample lead ballast encapsulated into the shoal hull. With a board-down draft of 6 feet 11 inches, the boat performed to windward in sprightly and efficient fashion.
The Ovni 395 is a 2 cabin single head layout. There is a very large quarter berth to port at the base of the companionway stairs with a large hanging locker.
To starboard is a large head with stand alone shower. Aft of the head is a door that enters into a shop/storage locker. There is a generator, water maker and ample storage for spares and plenty of toys.
Forward on port is the large lineal galley with gas stove and fresh and salt water at the double sinks. Opposite is the navigation station with control panels, electronics including SSB and VHF.
There is a very large dining table with leaves that lower to allow passage forward.
In the bow is a large v-berth with two large storage lockers on either side of the hull.
The Ovni has a large comfortable cockpit designed for comfort and sailing ease.
The dinghy is on davits from an ergonomic arch that also houses the solar panels.
She is a cutter rig with a traditional mainsail on the boom and roller furling on both headsails.
Anchor locker forward houses ample chain and rode along with the windlass for ease of raising and lower the anchors.
