44' Gulfstar 1981 Imagine

BROKER DESCRIPTION

"IMAGINE" IS BACK ON THE MARKET AND BETTER THAN EVER! BEST example of this classic cruiser! 2006 Yanmar diesel with under 500 hours!

Her owners have spared no expense in making her their perfect home and cruising boat. Imagine one of the best GulfStar models ever designed--a center cockpit with a great amount of space below, AND she sails like a dream. Modified cruising keel, so you have the benefit of a fin without the keel bolts. Thick, thick solid fiberglass hull.

There is no comparing her to other cruising boats of the era. GulfStar had perfected its lamination schedule by 1981, so this model never had a blister problem and was built like a battleship. Plus, she's easy on the eyes, with classic lines and a low profile. The amount of space below is deceiving!

DETAILS

The space on this boat is equivalent to one of a much larger size. From the moment you enter through the companionway, you are surrounded by luxurious teak and holly--the craftsmanship that GulfStar was famous for and which was lacking on many vessels built during this era.

To port, you step down into a cozy galley that enables you to easily keep your footing while preparing food at sea. There is a huge amount of storage, a double stainless sink, and everything you need to prepare great meals. Starboard of the companionway is the nav station and the walk-through leading back to the spacious aft cabin. The engine room is accessed through this walk-through as well, with a generously sized door leading into a well-appointed space.

The aft head features a very nice separate stall shower, and the double bed in the aft cabin is large and comfortable.

Forward of the galley, a large table folds out to seat as many as 8 comfortably, but both leafs drop down to give you a spacious main salon when you aren't entertaining. The forward head and stateroom (featuring v-berths) are spacious and private, making this a great family boat or a great boat for a couple and occasional guests.
